I'd booked to go to the Farne Islands on 19th June but the weather suddenly went gale force and everything was off. The Seahouses Festival was cancelled (good job too as it would have been blown off the harbour walls!!) and more importantly, for me anyway, no-one was going to the Farne Islands for several days. There were an awful lot of grumpy, disappointed photographers walking about. :-)) Ah well, better luck next year.

The disappointment was slightly made up by the absolutely beautiful display of large red poppies in the meadow behind Bamburg Castle. They kept me employed for quite a few hours.
